Back for its fourth play-filled year, PlayDay South Orange is the Village’s largest public event and features more than 10 Play Areas, many sponsored by generous local organizations and companies. From board games to basketball, zip lines to rope jumping, it’s the most fun you’ve ever had between two curbs!

PlayDay South Orange is produced by the South Orange Village Center Alliance (SOVCA) in conjunction with the Village of South Orange and many other partners and sponsors.
The event takes place Sunday, September 17, from 1-6 p.m. in the streets of South Orange Village.
PlayDay mainly takes place on South Orange Avenue on Sunday from 1-6 PM. South Orange Avenue is closed to cars from 6 AM to 7 PM that night between Scotland Road/Valley Street and Ridgewood Road. PlayDay also takes place on Sloan Street, Village Plaza, Vose Avenue (between SO Ave. and the Avenue’s garage) and 1st Street between Sloan Street and the Sloan Street parking lot, all of which are also closed to traffic for the day.
PlayDay is a free event and open to the public, with some attractions requiring a wristband or tickets (see below).
Here’s what’s in store:
